Dan Cameron and JC Williams took an 8 on 11 but birdied 13, 15, 16 and 17 to shoot 39. Brian Saltzman and Gary von Stange birdied 17 for a 43. And if they hadn’t Paul Pecor and Germain Mopa recorded a 44. Team Cameron took home the money with a total score of 82. Team Mancuso came close with a round of 83. The underdog award went to Team Swanson in a tie for Third. Captain John playing on one leg, with a bald guy from Puerto Rico, a gentleman who plays with Hickory Sticks, and a Rookie. Thank goodness for Jon Landry.
It’s great that Dan and his crew won, and almost poetic – because from the stories at the table above they might have had more fun than anyone.
At least for me, this opening night of Men’s League was one of our best. I made new friends (20+ new members), had a chance to catch up with old friends and that’s what I’ll remember. And of course the ribs.
Welcome back to Men’s League. It was a privilege to play bad golf with each and every one of you. I can’t wait for next week.
Just for the record Jose “the bald guy from Puerto Rico” Negron deserves thanks for the photo album, helping my plan this winter, and playing some good golf this week from some terrible lies. The Accounting Firm of Dylan “I’m a new member, and an recent grad” Lavallee audited tonight’s scoring. When you run into him, don’t question his math or his golf ability. He’ll kick your ass and take your money. Welcome aboard Dylan.
I’m looking forward to a great season (more rainbows than rain) and I hope you are too.
