Last week was our annual one club event, if you were one of the lucky ones to participate you were guaranteed to watch some ugly golf and to laugh while doing so. If using one club wasn’t hard enough, the typical Vermont National winds picked up making your thoughtful choice of a 6 iron more like an 8 iron. When I looked around the course I saw many hacks in the bunkers, several back and forth walks on the greens and a ton of drops on the 3rd hole! What I’ve learned for this event is that whether you love it or hate it, your always going to walk off the course with a smile on your face and not giving a crap about what you shot.

We’d like to congratulate Michael Lipson on winning the low score with a 44. Michael took home $100 cash and his choice of trophy from the latest garage sale. Team Yee won the team event and got their choice of random trophies as well.

This week we are off due to the Bear member guest tournament. We would like to wish those who are  playing the best of luck. We hope you have a great time and enjoy every moment of it.

If you haven’t made up your week 8 match like I haven’t yet, you have until next week to do so. Please note, the week 8 scoreboard is still up in the mens league locker room. If you don’t complete your match by July 20th it will be recored as 2-2 split.

Lastly, there is another big tournament going on this week and that is the Vermont amateur in Dorest VT. Vermont National has 12 members representing the club this week which is awesome. We’d like to give a shout out to Travis Mott and Jon Landry who both shot a 74 on the opening day. Best of luck gentlemen on the next few days.
