Congratulations to Cheney Noyes on his win during our Brad Hall Memorial One Club Challenge last week. He played from Modified Gold/Blue Tees with an 8-Iron and shot a cool 45. In Low Net was our fearless leader Matt Dodds who used a Mashie (or was it a Spade Mashie) and shot a 49 net 41. We also ran a White Tee Division for the first time this year to the delight of many. Chip Kenney was our inaugural winner with a 48 and Elliot Gray won low net with a 40. Everyone got a little bit of our prize purse and a really bad trophy to take home and recycle for their efforts. Cheney was adorned with the traditional madras jacket for his efforts. If you’d like to see all the pictures – most of them blurry – click here. On behalf of our organizers I need to thank the VNCC Staff for their help and also apologize to the members who weren’t in the tournament but were at the club. Thanks too for showing up, playing an interesting format and celebrating the life of our good friend.
You might also be playing in the WaxWell Cup’s second night tonight, it’s good to know that Tuesday’s round at BCC left our club in a better position than last year. We left BCC after a great dinner and only 20-12 deficit going into tonight’s matches. If you aren’t playing tonight and want to be apart of the action we’re always looking for caddies.
The Championship Banquet is next week at 7:00pm. I’ll reveal the final standings, payout the winners, tell some stories and feast on Prime Rib and Lobster Tails – our best dinner of the year. If that isn’t enough to whet your appetite, you’ve already paid for it. It would be great if I had an idea how many people were planning to attend. Click here to sign up.
